Julie Simon
Chief Creative Officer and Co-Founder
Julie Simon developed her dual passions for art and baking as a child growing up in New York City. A musician and self-taught artist and craftsman, Julie created, imagined and tinkered in many media – from elaborate pastries to drawing to painting, to stained glass, to fashion design. But it wasn’t until a trip 20 years ago to London and Harrod’s famed Food Hall, that she considered truly putting her love of desserts and art together. Entranced by the glittering wedding cakes festooned in sugar lace, she realized that cake art was her calling.
Before becoming a full-time confectionary artist, Julie enjoyed a highly successful executive career in the entertainment industry. She also spent several years as a recording artist and performer. She counts among her most exciting lifetime experiences her performances with aunt Carly Simon at the Apollo and Beacon Theaters in NYC, and singing on Broadway with her Grammy-award-winning and Tony-nominated mother, Lucy Simon.
Julie graduated Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Yale University with a degree in the Humanities, and brings her passion for the magic of art, philosophy and literature to her confection designs.
